“For years I have been hanging a unique poster of Che Guevara on the walls of my room, right above my bed. If you come to my room, you will notice that even the furniture is arranged according to that poster. In it, Ernesto is by himself — no Fidel, Raoul, Jose Maria, or Ramos. He is not totting a gun. He is not wearing a guerrilla outfit, nor is he smoking his famous cigar. It’s him and his dog, under a thick blanket with sleepy eyes. I have hung this poster next to my bed to sleep better, because I know heroes sleep too. They become tired, their fingers no longer pressing the trigger. They relax, too. I have hung this poster to remind myself that sleeping is essential, let the struggle be, and think of my health. My gun needs to cool down as do my comrades. In the morning, we will first light up a cigarette with our coffee, then we smoke again and drink again” …. via Tehran Avenue.
